Between September 2025 and February 2026, Dr. P. Prasanthi (SAHELI) wrote and published monthly magazine columns for Bhumika Women’s Collective in Telangana. These draw on real-life experiences from her interactions with women across the state.
After reading Prasanthi’s columns in the Bhumika Feminist Magazine, a subscriber contacted Bhumika’s 24×7 helpline for women in distress to seek guidance. The counsellor who received the call later shared this experience with Prasanthi.
The caller explained that she was under pressure from her family to undergo a hysterectomy. Reading the stories published in the magazine had helped her better understand her situation and empowered her to think critically about the decision. Feeling encouraged, she sought guidance on where she could go for a second opinion. The counsellor suggested a government hospital and assured her that she could call back if she was unable to visit in person.
